What can I do to remove leftover holograms?

If there is no chest anymore and the holograms doesn't disappear and you are using the version 1.*.* you can remove the holograms by standing near to the holograms and execute this command:

/minecraft:kill @e[type=minecraft:armor_stand,distance=..5]

Does support the plugin Folia?

Currently, the plugin is not supported Folia, because many functions need to change the world while the plugin is disabled, but this is not possible with Folia.

Does the countdown also run when the chunk is not loaded?

If the user dies and respawns far away so that the chunk is no longer loaded, the timer still runs.
